What is the going rate for a Supreme Court Seat? in 2017 the cost:
Spent on Neal Gorsouch
It Depends...and boy it’s an interesting web of dark money and possible pay to play.
At all times I will link to source data. In doing so, it’s an attempt to afford you the opportunity to independently review the numerous IRS990s and FEC filings. Hopefully that data will allow you to make a better informed decision and act as a catalyst for questions...
Obligatory disclosure, this entry isn’t an overt indictment of possible corruption or corrupt intent as it relates to the current Supreme Court Justices. Notwithstanding I have multiple concerns as to the over politicalization of our current SCOTUS.
As a primer, I refer you to Project MapLight November 2017 Report, found here.. This is probably one of, if not the best investigative reporting I’ve seen in a long time. MapLight tracked down tax returns and boy does it show tens of millions of anonymous aka Dark Money that literally poured into the DC ThunderDome.
The Wellspring Committee, a Virginia-based nonprofit, donated more than $23 million last year to the Judicial Crisis Network, which spent $7 million on advertisements pushing Republican senators to block President Barack Obama’s court pick, Merrick Garland. After the election, the network spent another $10 million to boost President Donald Trump’s pick, Justice Neil Gorsuch.
Wellspring received more than $32 million in donations last year, with $28.5 million coming from a single, anonymous donor. Before 2016, Wellspring had never received more than $13.2 million in annual donations. As a social welfare organization, Wellspring is not required to disclose its donors.
JUDICIAL CRISIS NETWORK
🚩Liberty 2.0 (PAC)
🚩JUDICIAL CRISIS NETWORK - Lobbying (JCN-L)
And predictably Q1 of 2017 the Judicual Crisis Network, pursuant to the Federal Lobbying Disclosure Act is required to file reports with the House and Senate which also requires Disclosure of the purpose and amount of said lobbying.
In 2017 Judicial Crisis Network aggressively lobbied the US Senate regarding Neal Gorsouch’s nomination, via two prominent DC based law firms.
A total of:
⚖️April 2017 LDA Filing
Whereby JCN-L paid $100,000.00 to...wait for it...Covington & Burling LLP.
LDA report found here.
See line # 7 (client); Judicial Crisis Network
See line # 16 which reads in whole:
Support the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court
⚖️July 2017 LDA Filing
Whereby JCN-L paid $115, 000.00 to Covington & Burling LLP. LDA report found here.
I refer you to line # 7 (client): Judicial Crisis Network
And line # 16 & 17. Answer to #16 (purpose of lobbying)
🚨Support the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court, prepare for possible additional Supreme Court vacancy.
That last 5 words in that sentence, is super curious for a variety of reasons. It was added after their April 2017 LDA submission. Notwithstanding that the July 2017 LDA report was filed 11 months before Supreme Court Justice Kennedy’s June 2018 retirement.
⚖️April 2017 LDA Capitol Counsel, LLC
I refer you to line # 7 & 16 in the Capital Counsel April 18, 2017 LDA Report. Link to their report found here.

Talk about a total return on investment, JCN Chief Legal Counsel earned herself a front row to Neal Gorsouch and the stolen SCOTUS seat.

In fact between MindSpring, Mercer Family Foundation, Judicial Crisis Network...it’s not like we haven’t talked about this...oh wait, yes we have:
The reason SuoerPACs should be closely scrutinized?— SpicyFiles (@SpicyFiles) April 4, 2018
1) They are NOT required to disclose the origin of donations.
2) ghost or shell Cos are used as a conduit to funnel foreign money into our elections.
3) $5.9M in 2004 to $183.5M in 2016

What I find most offensive about Judicial Crisis Network is the tone and overt misogynistic ads they are now saturating the DMV (DC, Maryland & Northern Virginia) area with these type of ads. I find it repugnant and deeply offensive. As a whole the Judicial Crisis Network is a Dark Money Laundromat and pushes out some insanely gross public policy positions and then goes for the double tap of reaching into the Spiritual dogma that has ZERO business being inserted into the deeply problematic encroachment of obliterating the Separation of Church & State.
And this DISTORTED ACTIVE MEASURES BULL PUCKY, the beltway rumor is Amy is the front runner because she’s relatively young (I think mid 40s) which mean her tenure if the Senate confirms is easily 30 to 40 years. This isn’t personal, I know Amy but she’s an awful awful Judge.
Here you can read some of Amy Coney Barrett’s writings...she’s not just conservative,. She is like right of right and screw what the Constitution & USC State, God is her only master. Honestly her potential nomination to our Country’s Highest Court, gives me considerable pause. As a fellow Catholic, I found here 1998 paper, deeply offensive. Both spiritually and in the context of the legal community. Coney-Barret is the more conservative Neal Gorsouch
“Catholic Judges in Capital Cases.” Norte Dame University 1998
Link to the paper Amy Coney-Barrett co-authored, found here. I mean really this is the first paragraph of the aforementioned paper:
This puts Catholic judges in a bind. They are obliged by oath, professional commitment, and the demands of citizenship to enforce the death penalty. They are also obliged to adhere to their church's teach-
ing on moral matters.
Coney-Barrett then goes on to harshly criticize, Justice William Brennan’s statement about faith. In which Justice Brennan stated:
...that he took an oath to uphold the law, and that “there isn’t any obligation of our faith superior” to that oath. In response, Barrett opined: “We do not defend this position as the proper response for a Catholic judge to take with respect to abortion or the death penalty.”
The inference here is if you’re a Catholic Judge, you can not properly adjudicate Capital Cases or Abortion Cases, because you are loyal to God & the teachings of CCD. It absolutely enrages & vexes me that this type of religious & servile extreme dogma could possibly hold a seat on the Supreme Court for 30-to-40 years
I would urge you to read Amy Coney-Barrett’s Senate Judiciary Committee Q & A. It is 31 pages of why someone who has never been a first chair on any litigation of note, some how the Senate Republicans thought she’d be an excellent (note my sarcasm) Federal Judge, with a life time appointment and now Donald Trump thinks she will be a perfect Supreme Court Justice...in what universe are we living in? Because after reading her 31 page response to the Senate Judiciary Questionnaire, I am deeply troubled. Link found here.
I am Catholic and I respect the rule of law. But clearly the Judcial Crisis Network continues to pour millions of dark money into their aggressive push to seat as many conservative judges as they can, before Donald Trump is impeached and/or facing a multi-county Criminal Indictment. I don’t know about you but both of those can’t come soon enough. Because the frenetic pace Trump has nominated judges is more than alarming it’s down right horrifying:
