Who is John Fotiadis?
Why did he close up his firm?
As you may know, last week CNBC reporter Christina Wilkie published an article, highlighting John Fotiadis. In her article she alleges that Fortiadas “deleted everything”.
I am respectfully going to disagree. Facts matter but the narrative she and CNBC are pushing, it’s not intellectually honest, at all. At ALL times I will link to data sources and allow you to determine what’s facts versus fiction. Because her article isn’t completely homest and it’s flirting with click-bait. You can read the original CNBC June 6, 2018 report here.
Between 2007 and 2013, Fotiadis designed all or part of six Trump-branded developments: a Trump Tower in Kazakhstan; a Trump-branded seaside resort in the republic of Georgia; a 47-story Trump Tower in Tbilisi, Georgia; hotel rooms at the Trump Tower in Istanbul; a Trump movie studio complex in Florida; and major portions of the Trump Parc Stamford, a condominium tower in Connecticut.
Fotiadis covers his trail
Gone was Fotiadis' impressive portfolio of 30 projects (some of which are pictured below), including villas, schools and office buildings he has designed for clients around the world. Also gone was any reference to the two overseas branches of JFA that he had opened — in Tbilisi and Kiev, Ukraine.
And clearly I’m not a reporter. Seriously have you not cringed at my prolific typos and atrocious grammer?NThat said, I think there’s a false narrative that John Fortiadas “went to ground”, after a bit of research, I tend to think this is a false flag. Indulge me for a few additional moments and allow me to explain via actual receipts, facts matter:
- the announcement has two links embedded
- read the signatory line of Fortiadas, announcement was updated on June 11, 2018
I don’t know why CNBC would portend that Fortiadas “deleted everything, all 30 of his projects” simple put, it’s not accurate and it’s certainly NOT factually correct. And here’s my proof in concept & evidence to substantiate CNBC & the reporter’s claims are flat out wrong.
here is JFA’s live (archived) Portfolio, live url here.
here’s the Internet archived link (incidentally no one had actually archived this link until I archived it 25 hours ago), here.
Again this isn’t about me making a name for myself or the PAC or for Claude. This is about facts and truth in “reporting”. At all times ( below) I post the live urls & Internet Archived urls.
Andreevskiy Office Complex was designed to be an 86,000 m2 building located in Podol, a historic district of well-preserved buildings in Kiev. The building was being developed by ESTA Holding, one of Ukraine’s leading real estate development firms. With a footprint of approximately 10,000 m2, the building was to be eight stories tall and designed to contain speculative office space with retail and parking located in the base of the building. It was also designed in accordance with LEED criteria. JFA was hired to adjust a pre-existing building massing, re-design exterior facades, and design the public interiors. Effective April 2012 the developer has terminated the project.
TRUMP WORLD STUDIOS:
JFA was asked by the Trump Organization to generate a concept master plan for a film studio facility in Homestead, Florida. JFA was told that a 600 acre parcel of land, part of which was formerly used by an Air Force base, was being considered for redevelopment. One the ideas being considered was the creation of a film studio of a size and scale that would rival the world’s best known film studios. JFA’s main idea was to organize the studio facilities on a city plan based on traditional urban design concepts such as grids and sight lines. The site is organized along main boulevards that run roughly north-south. Major crossing points become hubs within the complex. The program called for sound-stages, back-lots, and office facilities. Had the project proceeded beyond the first stage, a second stage of development would have included residential and hospitality faculties.
TBILISI PRIVATE ESTATE:
live url here, Internet Archived link found, here. Again, no one had taken the time of actually plugging the JFA “Archive Portfolio” into an Internet Archived. Nor does meta-data lie, this file wad created on May 6, 2016, see below.
JFA was hired to generate concept studies for a villa outside of Tbilisi, Georgia. The design strategy takes 3,400 square meters of residential floor area, and configures it in such a way as to maximize the number of views for the maximum number of living spaces. This is done without breaking the project down into individual buildings. Instead the floor area is housed in a series of pavilion like structures which sit on a common base that is tucked into the hill. The site’s gentle slope towards the dramatic views of the Caucus mountains in the distance, afforded the creation of a building which acts as a split level residence. It appears as a single structure at the top of the hill, while become a two story structure at the bottom of the hill. Given the characteristic of the site, (highly wooded and forested), the client wanted the building to integrate with the landscape. JFA’s use of green roofs and stepped forms results in a building which merges with its setting and seems to grow out of it.
LUXURY RESIDENTIAL TOWER BATUMI
This Tower will be part of Phase I of the master plan for this site. The design of the tower is driven by two ideas – to create an iconic profile on the Batumi skyline, and to maximize the views out of the building for every residential unit. A triangular floor plate has been chosen to accommodate these two ideas. By highlighting the special attributes of each corner, views are further enhanced; not only from each individual unit, but also from the public zones. Two northern corners with sea views get maximum exposure from having double corner window. The south corner opens up to the city view, providing southern exposure to the atrium.
To CNBC’s credit they did Link to an “archived” press link, but the notion that JFA “deleted everything” is patently FALSE, like pants on fire false. Here’s the live url of Fortiadas “Press” on JFA’s website, found here. Personally I found the 2013-2015 entries noteworthy, for a variety of reasons. Also here’s an archived link to JFA Press. Again metadata doesn’t lie, this page was updated numerous times 2013-2017.

Notice what’s different in the Biographies? No your eyes nor mine are playing tricks on us. In Fortiadas SNS Biography, that firm stripped any and all reference to Fortiadas previous and extensive relationship with Donald Trump and the Trump Organization. Also I called his “new” employer SNS, he dies in fact work there.

A cursory search on Facebook, I was able to zero in on the actual date of the announcement, naming Fotiadis as a “juror”. Live URL can be found here. I have taken the liberty of archiving the December 28, 2017 Facebook Post, Archived Link here.
Trump, Fortiadas and The Silk Road Group.
this is actually important, there are a LOT of great investigative reporters, who dig in and do the hard work. It vexes me that some are incorrectly stating that Fortiadas, Cohen and Trump “trifecta of shade” started in 2012. That’s actually incorrect the unholy alliance was initiated in 2010:
See June 23, 2010 Eurasia News Article, found here.
Trump is in talks with the Silk Road Group, a real estate and transportation company with investments in Georgia and Central Asia, about development possibilities in the Georgian capital and along the country’s Black Sea coast.
Michael Cohen, an executive vice president at The Trump Organization, the private company that handles Trump’s property development and management projects, told EurasiaNet.org that he expects to travel to Tbilisi on June 22 to look at potential sites.
Rustavi-2 claimed that the Trump building will built in downtown Tbilisi, near the city’s new Radisson Hotel. The area, which overlooks the city’s Mtkvari River, has already been cleared of rundown townhouses.
Cohen did not elaborate about the project's location or the expected size of the investment.
Again this isn’t about me, this is about Facts and doing your homework. Also here’s Georgia’s State Run Media highlighting Trump’s 2012 Ribbon Cutting ceremony. After all FACTS really do MATTER:
And the ACTUAL Ceremony:
