For those of us in the DC area, know the rigorous process of obtaining and maintaining a security clearance. Many spend years building their resume and bonafides to show our Government:

You are not a National Security Risk

That you can be trusted by our Government to handle sensitive materials

And then came Donald J Trump. Where the decades old traditions and protocols and built-in safety measures gave a majority of Americans certainty that “trustworthy” individuals had access to our Country’s most secret matters. For career public servants, you are required to work your way to the top, the “keys” aren’t handed over. But then can Trump. Who by all appearances is in fact a National and Global Security risk.

🚩Standard Form 86 SF-86

This is a lengthy form/application, nearly 127 pages in all,  this OPM link will take you to the most recent version of the SF-86. If you run a word search you will see dozens of questions regarding truthful and forthright disclosures of any “foreign” personal travel, family members, extended family members, business, financial accounts. For example on pages 79 & 80

The process of obtaining a clearance is a multi step process. It is important to note that the scope and type of background investigation largely varies depending on “the duties and access requirements for the position”. Most clearances are not transferable from Agency to Agency, meaning if you hold a clearance at the Department of Energy (DOE), but transfer to the Department of Justice (DOJ), your “new” Agency, the DPJ is classified as the “sponsoring agency” does the amount The sponsoring agency, that initiates your investigation, is then responsible for determining the level of background investigation that needs to be conducted, based on current rules/ procedures governing that Agency. Granted if you already have a clearance, obtaining a new one is relatively easier and often completed in a lesser amount of time. Again much of that is determined based on the scope of your job and responsibilities. Below are the four clearances:

This type of security clearance provides access to information or material that may cause damage to national security if disclosed without authorization. It must be reinvestigated every 15 years.

This type of security clearance provides access to information or material that may cause serious damage to national security if disclosed without authorization. It must be reinvestigated every 10 years.

Top Secret

This type of security clearance provides access to information or material that may cause exceptionally grave damage to national security if disclosed without authorization. It must be reinvestigated every five years.

Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)

This type of security clearance provides access to all intelligence information and material that require special controls for restricted handling within compartmented channels.

For additional information, I refer you to OPM’s National Background Investigation Bureau (OPM-NBIB) Investigation process

Also there’s NO such thing as a permanent security clearance. And sometimes I wish the mainstream media would quit referring to a “permanent clearance”... Typically when a new administration comes in to office, staffers are granted what’s known as an interim clearance, it is a temporary clearance. Based on the individual staffer’s job duties, such as a Senior Advisor to POTUS that applicant will be moved up in the queue.

Trump White House Security Clearances:

As many of us now know, given the wide reaching reporting by numerous news organizations the Trump White House appears to have had a lack of process or following the process and could have put our National Security at risk. It boggles my mind that in November 2017, some 11 months into this shit-hole administration, it was widely reported some 100 White House staffers held “temporary clearances”, per this CNN February 2018 Report. Case in point Rob Porter, who largely had one of the most important jobs within the White House as Trump’s staff secretary. In turn the current White House Chief of Staff, General Kelly blasted out this 5 page memo, to “stream line” the security clearance process or lack thereof.

Just to reiterate the FBI that conducts background checks, pursuant to Executive Order 13467, for all White House Staffers.

It is unheard of that some of Donald Trump’s most senior White House staffers were permitted to work for almost a year while only holding an interim clearance. As such many members of Congress became increasingly concerned by the numerous reports that White House staffers may have had access to highly sensitive  Government information that required various clearances or above the clearance they had.

Jared Kushner

The first known letter from Congress that I am aware of is this April 2017 letter to then FBI Director Comey, requesting investigate further, because I don’t know about you but beyond Mango Grandpa being facedown on the south lawn eating grass as the USMS slaps cuffs on him, my second person I want to see eating grass on the South Lawn is dead-eyes Kushner. The dude just creeps me out and I’m pretty sure he’s way more corrupt than Big Papa Mango

Let’s also not forget about the February 2018 Crew Complaint surrounding Jared “Vlad gimme a back channel com” Kushner. Here’s a relevant snipbit from Crew’s Complaint, it’s far more eloquent than my predicable foul mouth:

Kushner failed to disclose multiple contacts with Russian officials and other foreign governments in his initial application for a security clearance, raising security concerns and questions about his candor. Kushner’s role in President Trump’s campaign and transition also is being examined as part of the criminal probes that are being conducted by the FBI and Special Counsel Robert Mueller. (emphasis added)

”There are serious questions as to the Trump administration’s handling of secure information,” CREW Executive Director Noah Bookbinder said. “Failure to revoke Jared Kushner’s temporary clearance would set a dangerous precedent by signaling a willingness to tolerate unacceptable national security risks.”

How many times did Jared Kushner amend his SF86? I’m pretty sure it is over 39 Amendments. Below is a Twitter Thread I created in early Spring of 2018. I am not even going to apologize for my deep seeded desire to see Jared in cuffs. I firmly believe he has monetized and abused his proximity to our Country’s most sensitive secrets and managed to unjustly enrich himself and his immediate family.

S.E.C.R.E.T Act:

H.R.3210 - Securely Expediting Clearances Through Reporting Transparency Act of 2018, originally introduced in the House of Representatives by Rep Stephen Knight (R-CA-25) on July 12, could infer that the increasing number of news articles detailing the sheer chaos and lack of order within the Trump White House caused (even a few republicans) in both Chambers of Congress to full on freak out. HR3210 oddly made it through both chambers of Congress with relatively minimal changes. As such president (yes I’m still not capitalizing the P) Trump signed this bill into law on May 22, 2018. I could be wrong but I do not recall a signing ceremony or any type of Reality (train-wreck) TV moment.

Public Law No: 115-173, signed by president Trump 5/22/18

Securely Expediting Clearances Through Reporting Transparency Act of
2018 or the SECRET Act of 2018

(Sec. 3) This bill requires the National Background Investigations Bureau (NBIB) within the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to report on its backlog of security clearance investigations. The report must include a backlog mitigation plan identifying the cause of, and making recommendations to remedy, the backlog.

(Sec. 4) The Executive Office of the President must report on the process for conducting and adjudicating security clearance investigations for the President's staff.

(Sec. 5) The OPM must report on the costs of maintaining comprehensive background investigations capability within both the NBIB and the Department of Defense, compared to the costs of sustaining a single government-wide background investigations enterprise.

(Sec. 6) The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) must report on: (1) the status of implementing government-wide continuous evaluation programs, (2) efforts by federal agencies to meet requirements for reciprocal recognition to access classified information, and (3) whether the schedule for processing security clearances should be modified.

(Sec. 7) The ODNI and the OPM must review and make recommendations to Congress and the President, as appropriate, to issue guidance to assist agencies in determining: (1) position sensitivity designation, and (2) the appropriate background investigation to initiate for each position designation. The President must report on any issues identified in, and the number of position designations revised as a result of, the review.

As will nearly all of the laws that Trump has signed during his shit-hole of an administration, I’m actually quite certain that Trump has no idea what he is signing. As in I’m confident he doesn’t bother to read the actual bills he’s signing into law. What appears to be more alarming is, it is increasingly obvious that Trump doesn’t have anyone with public policy competency that READS the laws and thus informs Trump of words like “shall report in X days” to him or his senior staff. Therefore the Trump White House has no idea what the mandatory reports are or when they are required to be submitted to Congress.

Remember how long it took him to enact the Russian sanctions? It was upwards of five months. And even then if you actually read the sanctions listed on the US treasury website or my previous entry...where I point blank show you the CAATSA had NOTHING to do with Russia’s Hostile & Aggressive attack on our Democracy. The language was specifically for Russia’s Military Aggression in Crimea and deeper into the Ukraine. Yet the mainstream media fell for the Trump-borscht-Propaganda and opted to “trust” the White House which has a literal 90% ratio of lying its face off.

And once again it appears the ONLY members of the House Government Oversight Committee that have any desire to fulfill their Constitutionally Mandate roll, to be the check and balance of an increasingly power hungry and out of control Executive Branch are the House Democrats.

Apparently the House Democrats actually give a damn about a presidency that’s taken a hard right turn to authoritarian-ville perhaps with a detour at the Duma. Yes, every time I see my phone alert a new notice from Elijah Cummings I skip down my office hallway and giggle because I know he’s coming in “hot”. He is like a Congressional MOAB. When he starts dropping letters it’s like truth bombs  but most importantly the purpose of Congressional letters is to memorialize events. In the DC Thunderdome gladiators patiently wait and when the opportunity presents itself said gladiator goes for the Achilles Heal and keeps pressing until the opponent starts crying.

“The White House is now escalating its obstruction by failing to comply with a law duly enacted by both houses of Congress and signed by President Trump himself,” the Members wrote.  “This law required the White House to submit a report to Congress by August on its procedures for adjudicating security clearances, but the White House has failed to submit this report and has been unable to explain why.”

“The failure of the White House to submit this report to Congress in compliance with the law is particularly troubling in light of significant failings and dysfunctions in its security clearance adjudication system,”

Rep Cummings is my personal hero

That above captioned video was Rep Cummings giving an impassioned speech of the cruelty and insidious Zero Tolerance Policy. This man is a giant. He left everything on the battlefield. There is zero doubt in my mind that he represents everything I stand for and will continue to advocate for. He is a gladiator. And I’d follow him over the cliff, no questions asked. When history looks back on the shit-hole of an administration that is the Trump Administration, members of Congress like Rep Cummings will be on the right side of History. Conversely members like Trey Gowdy, Mark Meadows, Jim Jordan, Devin Nunes.

I’m pretty sure these impotent little traitor-tots will be in a jail cell wondering what they did wrong. I do find some comfort in knowing that history will be unyieldingly brutal to those who enabled Donald Trump. Those who shirked their Constitutional Obligations. Those who ignored all the warning signs. Those who engaged in subterfuge. Their often servile capitulation to a man who isn’t worthy to pick up my dog’s poop. The current GOP is so far off the rails, that they haven’t lost their way, they are no longer a party that is worthy to be in power.  Much less retain control of both Chambers of Congress and the White House. Let’s be real for a moment the reality is the GOP isn’t in control, Trump is and by proxy so is Putin.

On November 6, 2018 understand this one absolute TRUTH, it will be the day of reckoning for the GOP. Millions of reasonable Americans both women and men have had enough of the Trump-Putin-GOP bullshit. I don’t know about you, but I for one am sick of their shit. I am going to work my fanny off for the next 5 weekends phone banking for Democrats, door knocking for them, help GOTV anything I can do close this insane chapter of the most corrupt and ethically bankrupt so-called presidential administration. Dust, I want the GOP to face a shocking shellacking that renders them impotent. Yea, I’m that pissed off, aren’t you?
