Some base line facts, as it relates to the 2017/2018 election cycle.

🇺🇸 FEC 🇺🇸

Individual Contribution Limits:

$2,700* per election$5,000 per year, see FEC 2017/2018 chart, here.

Pursuant to the current FEC statutes, which read in part:

$100 limit on cash contributions: A campaign may not accept more than $100 in cash from a particular source with respect to any campaign for nomination for election, or election to federal office.

$50 limit on anonymous contributions: An anonymous contribution of cash is limited to $50. Any amount in excess of $50 must be promptly disposed of and may be used for any lawful purpose unrelated to any federal election, campaign or candidate.

 How limits work:

The limits on contributions to candidates apply separately to each federal election in which the candidate participates. A primary election, general election, runoff election and special election are each considered a separate election with a separate limit. (A special election may itself involve separate primary, general and/or runoff elections, each with a separate contribution limit.)

§ 100.10 Person (52 U.S.C. 30101(11)).

Person means an individual, partnership, committee, association, corporation, labor organization, and any other organization, or group of persons, but does not include the Federal government or any authority of the Federal government.

§ 110.1 Contributions by persons other than multicandidate political committees (52 U.S.C. 30116(a)(1))

b.Contributions to candidates; designations; and redesignations.

1.No person shall make contributions to any candidate, his or her authorized political committees or agents with respect to any election for Federal office that, in the aggregate, exceed $2,000.

You can read the full text of the statues regulation campaign contributions, via this FEC link. Full disclosure the statutes are comprehensive and complex, which means it’s easy to become confused, which is why I posted the FEC Contribution Chart above. So let’s dive in to Devin Nunes’ FEC Reports. At all times I will link to the data source. From what I can determine there are 5 categories of Campaign Contributions:

FEC No: C00370056:

Coverage dates: 01/01/2017 to 05/16/201,

2017/2018 Unitemized individual contributions = $$1,923,418.03

This means that Nunes has raised nearly $2 million in Campaign Donations, and we have no idea where or who donated those funds. This flyies in the face of Campaign Finance Disclosures and Transparency. Meaning of the $4.9 million raised, nearly $2Million is effectively dark money. Again here’s the FEC 2017/2018 Raw Data Link.

2015/16 Unitemized individual contributions = $25,038.01

My point is if we are going to have an honest intellectual discussion about Devin Nunes and his -interesting- FEC filings, it’s best to compare numerous election cycles. Therefore you have a broader data set to compare. That said, it crystal clear that Devin Nunes had a astronomical increase in campaign donations.

See 2015/16 FEC Raw Data, link found here.

2013/14 Unitemized individual contributions = $21,008.79

See FEC 2013/2014 raw data, here.

        1. individuals
        2. Nunes controlled PACs
        3.  Corporations
        4. Special Interest PACs
        5. other Campaigns, Party affiliations

And I now refer you to pages 169 & 170 of Devin Nunes Campaign Ccommittee, FEC Filing, which was electronically filed on: 04/11/2018 20 : 32, Link this 307 page report, can be found, here. Could the Pace’s & Nunes be anymore obvious in their attempt to circumvent FEC Campaign Fiance laws?

One the the TOP PACs that has given Nunes tens of thousands of Campaign Donations is: ABBOTT LABORATORIES EMPLOYEE POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE.

FEC No:  C00040279

Since 2005 Abbott Labs PAC has donated 27 times to Nunes:

In fact if you take the time to read the FEC Query, you can see that the vast majority of of Campaign Donations Devin Nunes receives comes from hundreds of donations from PACs and/or SuperPACs.

Another favorite PAC that has donated in excess of 39 times to Devin Nunes is:

Committee ID: C00004275

The BANKPAC has donated nearly $50K to Devin Nunes. I have taken the liberty of running a FEC Report that breaks down Nune’s donations. You can read the FEC Report, here

Nunes Victory Fund, FEC No: C00544031

which raised some: $283,124.00

It’s interesting to me that the “treasure” of the Nunes Victory Fund is Nune’s mom, Toni Diane Nunes. I refer you to page 1 and page 10

Moreover in reviewing the FEC data the following contributions appear to be excessive therefore impermissible under current FEC 2017/2018 Campaign Contribution Law, as previously explained above. This FEC Link is the raw data for Nunes Victory Fund, I’ve taken the liberty of highlighting the various donations which are excessive. Raw data found , here

and because I can, here’s the March 2018 FEC Letter to the Nunes Victory Fund...turns out Nunes doesn’t think campaign finance laws apply to him or his pac or his family. Oh so much winning.

Alpha Omega Winery:

FEC Receipts:

FEC No: C00499392 - Valadao For Congress

FEC Form 3, filed on 05/24/2018 19 : 24

I now refer you to pages 1 & 70, itemized campaign donation as “gifts for donors”

And let’s NOT forget this tiny twitter thread which links to my most favorite members of Congress and their House Financial Disclosures. I still can’t get my hands on Nunes’ publishing contract but give me a few more days. After all I am like a dog with a bone. I will release my jaw when I want to, as of now I’m crunching down to get to the marrow, no joke though bone marrow soup is delish😂

And my closing thought, for now (sorry for yelling)
