Michelle Wolf is right...

...Flint still doesn’t have clean water

While the DC Beltway collectively gasped and clutched its pearls, because Michelle Wolff made a few jokes. The Sunday Pundits and other Media “elites” decided to suddenly rushed to quickly canonize Sister Sarah Huckabee Sanders. You know the same Sarah Sanders who stands behind the seal of the President of the United States and berates the media by verbally abusing them, all while spewing non stop lies to the American people, while defending the indefensible. Here I threw together a tiny twitter thread with a smalll smattering of SHS45’s lies and other unpleasantries.

And predictably twitter lost its mind and then some in the media wanted their pounds of flesh today.

Sadly all of you missed the most truthful & brutal part of Ms. Wolf’s speech:

Flint STILL does NOT have clean water.

On April 25, 2014 then Flint Mayor Dayne Walling issued this 3 page Press Release:

You can read the March 2016, 22 page Congressional Oversight file here

Below are a few basic facts surrounding the Flint Michigan Water crisis:

  • City managers of Flint, Mi stopped taking finished (treated) water from Detroit and starts treating the Flint River water and then distributing it to customers in Flint.
  • The Flint River water was then treated with:
    • Water was not treated with a corrosion inhibitor (impacting pipes)
    • Flint River is disproportionately higher in chlorides
    • treated with Ferric chloride rather than the alum (which is a neutralizer) & used in Detroit
    • chloride – sulphate, to “airate” /carbonate dramatically changed the H2O ph

January 2016, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette...

announced today that he will investigate the water crisis currently affecting the City of Flint, press release here

April 2016, AG Schuette indicts:

We’re all charged with involuntary manslaughter related to their alleged failure to act in the Flint Water Crisis.

June 2017 Interim Report Link, here

From the second Flint Water Interim Report:

“The response to the Flint Water crisis was characterized by a failure of certain individual public officials at the state and local levels to protect the public health, safety and welfare. These are duties and responsibilities that the Michigan Constitution and the laws of the State of Michigan clearly impose. They are fundamental to good government.” Link to the 18 page report, here.

Flint Water, Children & (potential) Long Term Impact:

“As many as 12,000 children are exposed to excessive levels of Lead, and the water may have caused the Legionnaire's outbreak that kills 12 people” see 2018 Wayne University Study, here. Nearly 80% of the Legionnaires outbreak was linked to the City of Flint switching its water supply from Detroit to the Flint river. See this February 2018    Article, here

March of 2018 Michigan Department of Evironmental Quality, (MDEQ)

MDEQ Report here

...”found water tests at elementary schools in Flint have found an increase in samples showing lead levels above the federal action limit...MDEQ determined that 28 samples tested in February were above 15 parts per billion of lead, The Flint Journal reported. That compares to 20 such samples in January.”

“I am convinced that these test results prove additional work and investigation is needed to determine the source (or sources) of the lead, and what actions must be taken to address and resolve the problem, once and for all,” Weaver said.

This was TWO years ago...

but sure let’s all be outraged that a comedian made a joke about Sister Sarah and Smokey eye make up. And let’s just ignore the important message from Michelle Wolf..

Flint MI still has DIRTY water...we don’t know the long term health impact...
